poetry in motion

m, our original baby,
now eight and a half.
don't forget the half.

"daddy, do you ever feel like you are changing colors on the inside?"

mm,
"i'm not sure, do you?"

m,
"yeah, sometimes."

?!?
please discuss.

First "our original baby" - love it. I call Madeline "our practice baby."

Second, I love it. Changing colors on the inside, that is just beautiful. I totally get it. Right now I am dull brown and gray from exhaustion. But while I was out shopping with Charlotte there were little bolts of bright pink shooting through the gray.

oh dear god, where to start? first, i'm w/crystal on the fact that her comment is just beautiful. secondly, i love that she asked your hubby is he changes colors also. i feel like i get it too. like a mood ring that nobody else can see. love that. are you printing this stuff out to give to her when she's not sure what to write about in her creative writing class in college? just a thought. :)
